"These are the days"

While cooking up some terribly yummy 4th of July food I was listening to Pandora while my two oldest played the Wii and elijah finished up his 2 hour nap (I know- that is awesome!!!)  I ran across the song "These are the days" by Sugarland.  The song caused me to stop and tear up...

Tomorrow marks a very powerful moment in the most beautiful marriage that I am convinced has ever been (yes, I am talking about mine and Brian's marriage and I know I am biased- if you are reading this and are married- I am sure yours is equally as beautiful so write your own blog:). I know you may be wondering what monumental moment I am talking about and you are just gonna have to keep wondering- just know that it is a really good one:)

We have lived out and weathered so many storms throughout the years and if you are reading this and are wondering if you will weather through the storm you are riding through right now- I can honestly say that with faith in an incredible Savior , hope that can see through the mess, love of family and the "stick by you friends"- you can and will see the other side and take my word for it- it is the most beautiful thing you will ever lay your eyes on. There are days that I stop and have to take a moment to catch my breath- you know those moments that cause you to stop walking or may even take your attention from whatever you are doing and force you to consciously breathe for a breath or two.  There are days that lyrics to a song cause me to almost pull my car over, write them down or bring tears to my eyes because they are just "that good!"

I can honestly say that by the grace of God I was led to this very moment in my life.  I was led to this beautiful man that I am blessed to say "I will share the rest of my life with you......".

Over the next few weeks we will be planning my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary.  These anniversaries don't happen much anymore.  When I look at all that my mom and dad have been through and the storms they have weathered I am left completely speechless.  They have the kind of "stick by you no matter what" love that some people only dream of- I can say, without a doubt- I have been blessed to inherit this kind of love in my marriage. I know that is silly to say and that it doesn't really work this way but I like to think of this blessing that I have been a part of as one of the blessings I am inheriting through my King so just let me stay in my happy place if you will.... just kidding.   Thank you, mom and dad, for giving me a beautiful testimony of a love that only can come from God (not that both of you are just a delight to be with all of the time but, I'm just saying- your kind of love can only come from above).

To my beautiful groom of almost 10 years- Happy Independence Day.  I wouldn't want to share this holiday with anyone other than you.  Philippians 1:3 "I thank my God every single time you cross my mind."  These are the days..........  and I am blessed to be spending them with you.
