My brother, Anthony, is currently living in China teaching ESL type classes. He has been living there over the past several years and has only got to be with my children during the summer time. I believe that God gives us bonds with certain people for reasons that are unknown to us. I say this because our middle child, Alexandria, hasn't spent very much time with my brother because for her entire life he has lived thousands and thousands of miles away. For whatever reason, Alex has always had a connection with him and more often than not will wake up in the mornings talking about her "Uncle Bug". I believe that God has created that connection between the two of them and I am beyond grateful for that. My brother is an amazing man of God and he is someone who loves with all of his heart- without a doubt they share some bond that I do not understand but God does.
We have had an amazing fall- minus the Oklahoma allergies that have been causing Elijah to be miserable during most of our trips out doors. This little guy was crawling before at 6 months, pulling up at 6 1/2 months and climbing the stairs at 7 months. He is a mover and a shaker and one of the sweetest children I have ever known. He is true blessing.
Brasen is growing so fast. Our neighborhood is one of those neighborhoods in Broken Arrow that every kid in the county seems to come to for trick or treating. They do a parade of costumes down the street in front of our house (which, by the way, Danny the biggest looser, and his wife brought their kids to) and then the neighborhood explodes with costumes and candy. Elijah and I had the joy of passing out candy from the front porch and were completely bombarded with little girls running up to the house asking where Brasen was. Other little kids recognized me from volunteering at his school and were also requesting the presence of Brasen. Some of his friends arrived at the door to ask if he could walk around with them to trick or treat. Of course, the rule was only if his sister and dad could tag along!
Brian and I love our children so much that sometimes it brings us to tears. As I read Ephesians I am reminded exactly how much our God, our Savior, our Father loves us. We didn't choose our children, they were blessings and gifts from God, but our Father chose us. He knew us before we were born. He knew all of the bad things we would do and all of the pain we would put him through yet he chose us. Now that is Love that can bring you to tears.
