Long time coming

I realized I hadn't posted in a long time but I didn't realize how long it had been. Almost 1 year!! Life just gets way too busy and I forget things like this.

Elijah has joined our family and is now 6 months old. Alex is 2 and Brasen is almost 6- where have the years gone?

We have learned that Brasen is going to need a kidney transplant in the near future so we are now focusing on that. We are praying that his body will be completely healed and if that means that God will use another kidney to do that then so be it. We know-without a doubt- that Brasen has a major purpose on this earth and we know that God is going to continue to grow him and use him.

It is crazy how quickly kids grow up. Brasen came downstairs a few days ago to let me know he was in dire need of a nintendo DS. Seriously? What 5 year old requests these kinds of things? I guess when your kiddos attend public school they learn very quickly about "wants" and all that is included in that.

One of the greatest's blessings this school year has been volunteering in Brasen's classroom. My beautiful mom comes up every tuesday and watches our two youngest little ones while I sneak off to help Brasen's teacher in the classroom. Dostoyevsky said it best: "The heart is healed by being with children." Being with our three is a tremendous blessing in my life (even on the craziest of days) but being with other children and seeing all that goes on in the classroom that bleeds over from their home life is eye opening and heartbreaking at times.

Brasen has an amazing teacher who genuinely cares for each of her students and I believe that each one of them were placed in the class for a specific purpose. It is amazing to think about the future of each of these kiddos and what they are going to accomplish in this world.

Our church recently moved to a new-permanent location. It is not in the best area of Tulsa but it is exactly where it is supposed to be. Yesterday, during first service, three young children came and knocked on the door. Our doors are glass and are always opened but they didn't want to come in without permission. Our greeter met them at the door and learned that the children were cold and simply wanted to come to church. We welcomed them in, gave them a snack and they went to our children's area where they were welcomed with opened arms.

I believe this is exactly what Jesus was talking when he said "let the little children come to me." My prayer today is that I can have a childlike faith. To not be concerned about things that are out of my control but to just believe that things are going to be taken care of.

We serve such an amazing God and I am so beyond thankful for the grace he continues to give me. I am so grateful for the beautiful family he has allowed me to be a part of . I am thankful for the beautiful children he has given me and husband that cares for all of us and leads our family in the way God would want him to.

As I go into this season of fall I am reminded year after year that it is truly a time fall back into Gods love and have a thankful spirit.
