Giving Thanks

Well, as the fall season comes around and I begin to stare winter straight in the eyes my heart always begins to pound.  This time year has always been a trying time for our family.  Brasen was born in December and his entry into this world was nothing less than difficult.  He has his first major surgery October 2005 which required weeks of precautions and worry.  He had his second major surgery September 2006 which was filled with trips back and forth to OKC.  Last year we were surgery free!!!!  I had high hopes for this year but a run in with a bully at school caused us to have a surgery last week- October 30th.

Despite the trials that we experience with each fall season we refuse to let it strip us of the joy that we have.  God continues to bless our family and He continues to be our strength.  We are thankful for the health that we have been blessed with- no major illnesses.  We are thankful for the family and unbelievable friends that surround us.  We are thankful for the amazing church family that is developing in our new church.  And this year we have not only one child to be thankful for but now we are blessed to have two beautiful children in our lives.

God continues to show us that He is ultimately in control and for that we so thankful.

Wow Kim, I loved reading your blog! It is so crazy how our brains are wired. It can smell fresh apple pie and a flood of emotions associated with that smell can come rolling back. And the Devil can use those memories to zap our joy, however "Greater is He in us than he who is in the world!!!" Thank you for sharing your blog with me. It is a reminder to me of how in every season of life we need to celbrate our victories and "give thanks."
